Held in great esteem and worship, Apollo was the Greek and Roman god of music, oracles, archery, medicine and the sun. Apollo was the son of Zeus and Leto, and the twin brother of Artemis, goddess of the hunt. He is the god who affords help and wards off evil, the patron of seafarers, foreigners and the protector of fugitives and refugees.
