Caption: Constantius II, the second son of Constantine the Great, ruled as Roman emperor from 337 to 361 AD. His long reign was marked by efforts to preserve imperial unity after his father's death and the subsequent division of power among his imperial brothers. Following the civil strife of the 340s and the deaths of his brothers Constantine II and Constans, Constantius II became the sole ruler of the Roman world in 353 AD, restoring centralized control over the empire.
The coinage of Constantius II reflects the political, military, and religious themes of his time, typically depicting imperial authority, military strength, and messages of unity throughout the empire.
