Felipe V, the first monarch of the Bourbon dynasty in Spain, reigned between 1700 and 1746 following the War of the Spanish Succession. These colonial silver coins, known as cobs, were irregularly minted from metal fragments to allow for rapid production and circulation throughout the Spanish Empire. Each piece features a unique shape, reflecting both its manufacturing process and its historical significance.
